You’ll Do Better In AdClub

Here’s your opportunity to belong to an elite group of professionals with a 100 year long history* of forward thinking in business and advertising, the Advertising Club of Toledo. If you have already renewed your membership, congratulations. You’re now a part of an organization that has produced some of the greats in advertising history, including Theodore McManus, marketing manager for Kobacker’s store in Toledo and later the “agency of record” for Cadillac, Dodge and other early car companies in Detroit. It was McManus who first wrote the slogan, “You’ll do better at Kobackers” which he later re-wrote to be the famous slogan “You’ll do better in Toledo.” McManus also reached national prominence for creating the legendary ad for Cadillac, “The Penalty of Leadership” in 1915.

For national prominence in this century, there’s Dr. Martha Rogers, former member and Board member who grew her thesis at BGSU into one of the premiere marketing consultation companies nationally, Peppers and Rogers Group. Oh, and by the way, she met her business partner at an AdClub meeting. She will return to her roots this October as the keynote speaker for AdWORKS 2010 and only AdClub members can take part as exhibitors, another good reason to renew now.

If you have never belonged to AdClub, you’ve been missing a lot. We welcome anyone with an active involvement in the advertising and marketing business, from marketing managers at a variety of companies to advertising professionals from agencies to freelancers. AdClub offers incredible networking opportunities for area professionals with an interest in marketing, and only AdClub members can be a speaker or exhibitor at AdWORKS, our nationally-recognized seminar and trade show for local business and non-profits. Membership Drive 2010-2011

It’s that time of year again – no, not summer, AdClub renewal time! Our fiscal year begins on July 1 and membership renewals are on their way your mailbox and the mailboxes of 600 of our closest friends. This is an especially exciting time to be a part of  the Advertising Club of Toledo with new events and programs to stimulate your mind and fulfill your fun quotient.

2010-2011 Membership Packages were mailed on June 1 to all current members and those who have shown an interest in our Club, attended our events, or someone who would benefit from everything that AdClub has to offer. We have packages for individuals and all sizes and types of companies that offer special promotional opportunities and money-saving benefits.

If you are a current member, we look forward to your renewal. If you are interested in joining, we look forward to you becoming ACTive and bringing your interests, talents and perspectives to this unique professional organization.

The nationally-recognized AdWORKS is scheduled for October 15 this year and only AdClub members have the options of being a speaker at a breakout session, exhibiting at the expo or advertising in the directory.
